Our first wedding of the season was incredible! It was an honor to capture Mike and Missy's big day at Dulany's Overlook with their friends and family there to celebrate. It was supposed to rain but instead there was a beautiful sunset! It was scorching hot, but nothing stood in the way of the happiness these two had for each other in becoming husband and wife.
They shared a tearful First Look and Mike kept telling how unbelievable Missy looked. It was adorable!! They shared vows in the woods under a gorgeous flowered covered chuppah. Any Love Actually fans out there?! Missy surprised Mike with a trumpet player who played the same song that was played at the recessional in the movie Love Actually! Mike was so surprised and it was amazing to watch.
One of the best parts of the day was watching Mike interact with his nieces and nephew. His nephew was "taking pictures" of everyone and it was adorable! The nieces loved being the flower girls and laughed the whole way down the aisle.
Here is their love story:
On December 18, 2012 we were both at the Dave Matthews concert in Baltimore, MD on a Tuesday night! Mike was standing next to me on the floor standing room area and I started conversation with him during the concert and asked him to take some photos since he is tall! I ended up "asking" him to "put my number in his phone", he did and then got in touch with me and asked me out on a date! We went on several good old fashioned dates dinner, bowling, out with friends and the rest was history! We did a lot of traveling back and forth from Baltimore to Potomac for about 2 1/2 years and then moved in together in Bethesda, MD! We have been dating now for almost 4 years and we have become best friends and he is the love of my life! We can't wait to share our wedding day with all our family friends!!
Ans the story behind the proposal!
We were visiting my family in Towson for the Labor Day weekend and Mike drove me to the sunflower fields in Jarrettsville, MD and as we were looking at all the sunflowers to take pictures he got down on one knee! My sister was there without me knowing and was taking photos of it. We were heading back to my sister's house after for a cookout and all my closest family and friends were there to surprise me for my 30th birthday (which is in October)! It was a double surprise since not everyone knew Mike was proposing and I was not expected a birthday surprise!
