THE WEDDING EXPERIENCE

As your Maryland and Virginia wedding photographer, my goal is to capture your love story through photographs so that you can savor them forever. I enjoy building relationships with my clients that often begin as a business relationship and transform into a genuine friendship.

I fully understand that choosing a wedding photographer is an important investment of your time and money since it leads to the only tangible representation of your big day. The Inquiry

FIRST MEETING

The first step is to fill out our get-in-touch form and share your love story, as well as your wedding plans. I will share some example galleries based on your venue and vision for the day. If we are a good fit, you will sign the online contract and pay the retainer, which is a 1/3 of the total wedding package price.

 

The Bridal Guide

AFTER BOOKING

Once you are officially booked, you will receive a copy of my bridal guide, which is 60+ pages of tips and ideas to plan your wedding to help you with the process. This guide also includes more information about the engagement session, which many couples take advantage of sooner rather than later.

 

The Engagement Session

6-12 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

The next step is to set a date for your engagement session. The date is up to the couple, but generally I recommend scheduling the engagement session at least six months before the wedding so that you have time to send out your save-the-date announcements. Ideally, you will choose a location that is meaningful to you as a couple. This is a great time for me to get to know you and for you to experience being in front of my camera. It’s also an opportunity for me to capture images in normal/everyday clothes at a location that will be different from the wedding!

 

The Custom Timeline

3-4 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING

A few months before the wedding, I will email you a questionnaire to complete that will provide details I will need such as location, timeframe, and reception event details. After I receive your response, I will put together a customized timeline based on first-look, timing of ceremony, family portrait combinations, and other details that are unique to your ceremony.

Leading up to the wedding, we will continually work with you and your wedding planner so that you won’t have to worry about anything on your special day. Your only job on the wedding day is to have an amazing time celebrating with friends and family! I will have your timeline with me and will reference it throughout your ceremony and reception.

 

The Wedding Day

THE DAY YOU SAY “I DO!"

Your big day is finally here! I will arrive at the location you have chosen to get dressed for the ceremony. My second shooter will photograph the men, and I will focus on the bride and bridesmaids. During the ceremony, we will go off of the timeline for shots and capture special moments as they happen.

 

The Images

4-5 WEEKS AFTER THE WEDDING

I know you will be anxious to see the photographs, so I will email you several preview images from your big day a few days after the wedding. I will spend the next 4-5 weeks editing your images and preparing them for delivery. Our couples receive approximately 700-900 images based on details of the day! You and your family and friends may purchase prints of the images for personal use through your online gallery.

 

The Signature Album

2-3 MONTHS AFTER THE WEDDING

If you have chosen a signature album, I will work with you to create a collection of your favorite images from the wedding day. See an example of the signature album here.It is a beautiful collection of photographs that tells the story from start to finish of your wedding day to share with generations to come!

Countless wonderful venues are offered throughout the Maryland, NoVa and DC areas that are guaranteed to match whatever style you have in mind for your wedding day. As a Maryland and Virginia wedding photographer, here are a few that I recommend.

    • Herrington on the Bay is one of the top waterfront wedding venues in Maryland. Herrington features two stunning waterfront wedding spaces, as well as an off-site intimate barn at Honey’s Harvest. Less than an hour south of Annapolis.

    • The Oaks Waterfront Inn is an historic inn set against the backdrop of a quiet cove, as well as surrounded by ten open acres and an enchanting waterfront. The setting is simply magical–especially at night! Only minutes away from St. Michaels, Oxford, and Easton, MD.

    • District Winery accommodates weddings of up to 200 guests as a full-service winery. As the first commercial winery in Washington, DC, it is appropriately located in the Navy Yard community along the Anacostia River. Recently modernized, the venue features sophisticated floor-to-ceiling windows, an outdoor terrace, and scenic river views.

    • Hayfields Country Club is a luxury golf resort. The Grand Ballroom provides the perfect atmosphere for a wedding with surroundings that offer a beautiful backdrop for photos. The property overlooks a historic campus and Hunt Valley’s breathtaking Oregon Ridge along Maryland’s horses and hounds scenic byway.

    • Lansdowne Resort is a grand resort and spa with serene accommodations. You and your family and friends will be warmly welcomed and personally cared for by the staff of this beautiful resort. Located along the Potomac river in Northern Virginia.

    • Brittland Estates encompasses a collection of heritage properties located in the historic Chestertown area of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Its properties are elegant, gorgeous, and rich with history. From open fields to a flowing waterfront, its settings are expansive and filled with rural sophistication.

    • Antrim 1844 is a cozy country house hotel built in 1844 and nestled at the foot of the Catoctin Mountains in Taneytown, Maryland. It is renowned for its cuisine and luxurious accommodations. Couples can choose between several beautiful ceremony locations, including a formal rose garden, a secret garden, and a glass-enclosed pavilion.

    • Whitehall Estate is a fantastic option for both indoor and outdoor weddings in Northern Virginia. Located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, your guests will enjoy the comfort of the historic manor house, spectacular views, and magnificent century old trees.

    • Dulany’s Overlook is a gorgeous outdoor venue on a 170 acre farm. Up to 200 guests will enjoy a view of the rolling Maryland countryside while partying on the dance floor and star gazing at the end of the night. Just six miles from downtown Frederick.

    • The Christian Royer House is one of Maryland’s premier venues. This enchanting family run property features four acres of idyllic countryside along the rolling hills of Westminster, Maryland. The sugar maple lined driveway, southern style porches, and brick pathways offer great photo opportunities.

    • Pond View Farm is a family-owned and operated farm located in rural northern Harford County, Maryland. Ceremonies take place beneath two weeping willow trees overlooking a serene pond. Receptions are held in a charming manor house, complete with cathedral ceilings and exposed beams.
