Another summer, another amazing beach vacay! This year we wanted to go somewhere different besides our usual choice of Rehoboth/Bethany and Chesapeake Beach was a perfect choice. I was searching for fun summer activities to do with toddlers, and the Chesapeake Beach Waterpark came up. After we decided that would be a fun spot to take Payton, we found the perfect Airbnb and booked our vacay.
With Hallie coming in October, we knew we were going to have a shorter vacation this year since Kevin would need to save some vacation days, so it worked out that this specific Airbnb didn't have a minimum amount of days you had to stay in order to book. The house was right on the Chesapeake Bay with a gorgeous fenced in porch with a view of the water. It was so nice to be able to walk down to the beach each day and not have to drive and pay for parking! Having the whole house to ourselves also made it nice to have a kitchen to cook in and a separate bedroom for Payton. While we were there, we hung out on the beach each day, visited the Friday night farmer's market, went out for crab cakes, and had wonderful family time. The last day we went to the waterpark and Payton loved it! It was the first time she really was swimming and kicking in a pool and it was so fun to watch.
Whenever we travel, I try not to take too many pictures with my Canon so that I can enjoy being in the moment. I was able to snap a few pics of Pay Pay on the beach playing and we also took a few sweet photos before dinner one night. I got matching dresses for Payton and I from Old Navy and they were so cute! Spending extended vacay time with Payton and Kevin was good for my soul and I am so thankful for these two. It was a blessing to have a few days away just the three of us to spend some quality time together in between wedding weekends!
We also decided that when we got home from vacation, we were going to get rid of the binky. Ourpediatrician said by 18-months it would be ideal to have it gone since a new baby is coming! And it gets harder and harder to take it away as they get older and can start asking for it. It has been so hard not to give it to her the past couple of days because she loves it so much, but so far she is doing fine sleeping without it! Thank goodness she loves her cozy giraffe as much as her binky.
Enjoy these iPhone/Canon photos from our trip!
I hope you all are enjoying your summer! Family vacay with just our little family has become one of my favorite times of the year. So important to spend quality time together making memories! And in case you missed it, check out Taylor and Courtney's romantic Pond View Farm wedding!
