We had a plan to do Brian and Emily's engagement session at Dumbarton Oaks but when we got there, they told us they were doing renovations and the gardens were closed for the season. We were sad but made the best of it! We walked around Georgetown and found an adorable little park, a pretty hilltop, and lots of beautiful trees to take pictures in front of. Sometimes everything doesn't go as planned but if you roll with it the results can be better than imagined!
Golden hour was gorgeous and these two are so in love! It was a beautiful and romantic session and it was a joy to capture the love between these two.
Here is a little bit of their love story!
Brian and I both worked at Hunt Valley Golf Club during the summer in between our sophomore and junior year of college. I was a lifeguard and he was a snack bar boy! We became fast friends and kept in touch over the fall following that summer. (He was at UD and I had just transferred to Towson) I told my mom during that summer he was the one and the rest is history!
And the proposal!
What a fun story! I have been anxiously awaiting the proposal for quite some time. Brian knew he needed to be sneaky because I am a huge snoop! Brian planned a surprise for me at my elementary school and popped the question in my principal's office! Our families were in the conference room! It was so thoughtful and sweet. Sharing the news with my second graders after we celebrated with our families was an amazing memory!
