The two words I would use to describe the Kelly wedding would be joy and beauty. Caroline and Stephen had the most perfect weather on their wedding day at Brittland Manor. The girls got ready in the beautiful bridal suite before Caroline and Stephen shared a tearful first look. The entire day these two were giddy with each other and were so excited to tie the knot!
Stephen and Caroline exchanged their vows down by the water with so many friends and family surrounding them. Their love for each other is so evident and it was shining brightly for everyone to see. Elizabeth Bailey designed gorgeous details under the tent where everyone danced the night away. There were even fireworks that went off during Caroline and Stephen’s first dance! It was epic.
Here is a little bit of their love story:
Stephen & I were in the same friend group in high school, but not super close. Stephen went to University of North Carolina and I went to the University of South Carolina. We rekindled our friendship when I went to visit one of my high school friends at UNC my junior year of college. Stephen was also really good friends with her and we hung out all weekend. We were inseparable ever since! Stephen was a year ahead of me in college and moved to Atlanta, GA once he graduated, I ended up getting a job and moving there a year afterwards when I graduated. We absolutely love our lives together in Atlanta! A few months into dating, his dad was asking me about my family, and come to find out that my mom's family's business was the Kelly's family's business' first big client, dating back almost 40 years. Our families are super close, and Stephen's parents/grandparents knew all of my extended family. We are thrilled to merge the two families!
And the proposal story!
Stephen told me we were going to dinner with his boss and his boss's wife at our favorite restaurant in Atlanta, called Canoe. It was POURING down rain. He took me outside to have a drink under the tent before his "boss got there." We walked outside and went left (in the complete opposite direction from the outdoor bar), we walked along a pathway that led us under this beautiful tree and he proposed there. About 5-10 mins later, my whole family & Stephen's whole family came running out from the restaurant and surprised us. We had some apps/champagne to celebrate under a private tent with everyone afterwards. Then we went inside and had a sit down dinner in a private room, and it was so lovely. This was Stephen's third attempt to propose because the other two times got pushed back because of COVID (I found this out that night). It was such a magical night and I wouldn't change it (or the rain) for the world!
