Stephen and Susan are married!! It was a gorgeous day at Westwood Country Club in Virginia where these two tied the knot and danced the night away. Their fur baby golden retriever pup couldn't be at the wedding so they had a cutout of him for the photobooth. It was adorable! The pink bridesmaid dresses and incredible florals made for a gorgeous combination.
Stephen and Susan also had a special surprise for their guests! A lot of the guests went to Virginia Tech, including Stephen, so they had the Hokie Bird join the dance party. It was awesome!
Here is a little bit of their love story from Susan’s perspective:
We met at a bar in Arlington called Mister Days. We went on a date the next day and have been together ever since! I joke that we met the old fashioned way since we met in real life and not on tinder. When we first started dating, Stephen lived in an apartment about 1 block from me, so we have spent a lot of time together from the start. After dating a year and 4 months, we moved in together in an apartment in a different neighborhood in Arlington. Living together has gone great, and we just purchased a beautiful townhouse in Fairfax, VA.
And the proposal story!
I was pretty aware it was coming, haha. I knew he had the ring and marriage is something that we had discussed before we made that decision. He still tried to make it a surprise though. When Stephen proposed, he told me we were going to Applebees for dinner with his sister. As we were leaving, Stephen pretended that he forgot his wallet and then he got down on one knee and proposed in our living room. He held the box up-side-down, which I thought was so cute. I told him the box was up-side-down before I said yes (oops!). After that he took me to a really nice steak dinner. The restaurant was in on it and had champagne and a ton of free appetizers and desserts for us to celebrate. We spent the evening calling our friends and family. A couple days later we went on a vacation to Atlantis, which we had planned for a while. It was amazing!
