This is always a fun post to share each year! There is a lot that goes on at each wedding to create the images you see. You will see everything from veil throwing, bumblebees flying around, and blocking the sun with a reflector in this post. This year I even shot a wedding with a broken toe! Nothing can stop me from capturing your beautiful day.
We love each one of our amazing couples and looking back at these pictures reminds me of why I love doing what I do. It doesn't feel like work to spend time with these wonderful people and their families; I just happen to have a camera in my hand and take pictures along the way! Enjoy these behind the scenes images from our 2017 weddings!
Getting bugs out of the tulle!
My favorite veil thrower :)
Best second shooter ever!
You know, just joking around with the guests while we wait for the ceremony to start.
John kept his eyes closed while Kevin led him to exhange gifts with his bride before their First Look. So adorable!
When the wind creates a tunnel in your dress haha!
One way that we save time on the wedding day is by tag-teaming the bridal party photos! Kevin will take individual shots of each bridesmaid with the bride/small groupings while I take photos of all the groomsmen together. Love having a few more minutes to spare before the ceremony! Also, Kevin's backpack is clutch haha.
So windy!
Get low!
Walking into the reception like...
Making the most of a hotel room! Gotta use that beautiful window light in the detail shots.
Sock-bun for the win... every time!
That's attractive haha!
Always carrying something!
When you are just another paparazzi
Putting the veil back in takes teamwork!
Making shade!
When I need more space than a chair the bed works perfectly!
My sidearm is my official camera holder
Running to help fix the train so the groom doesn't have to. Love the determination Kev!
The best face ever.
This was special because this was the house she grew up in and it was also the wedding venue. So sweet!
Making sure everyone is on the same plane so that the full bridal party is in focus!
Sometimes you have to stand in the doorway and block traffic to get the shot!
Nice detail shot Kev!
And sometimes Kevin accidentally pulls the veil out when it's not in super tight. Always makes for a good laugh!
This was definitely the most epic behind the scenes shot from this season and captures it all! FYI guests, the bride and groom paid a lot of money to have me take their wedding pictures so let's make sure I am done taking the picture before you take out your camera phone. The bride and groom will thank you later!
And now I am smiling because look how cute Caleb and Jenny are in front of their DIY beer bar!
Fixing hair!
Oh yeah, that one time I shot a wedding with a broken toe. I hired my good friend Rachel to help me out since I was wearing a boot! As you can see, nothing will stop me from capturing your big day!
Love this bouquet.
Thanks for helping out Rachel!
Can anyone spot the bumblebee??
Scaling walls to make shade!
Not sure what is going on here haha
Hip pop.
Always smiling haha!
Another windy, yet romantic wedding day!
Kristine gave Joe this watch as a wedding present! Love the little details.
Hello freezing wind. Emily you are stunning!
Also not the first time I have let the bride borrow my flats so she doesn't have to wear her heels in the sand. Glad to help!
Kevin definitely has a love/hate relationship with the veil + the wind. Haha!!
Loved getting to see my CrossFit friends at Emily and Joe's wedding! Also Kevin loves to pretend he is in the bridal party when we are testing the light haha.
Wow that was a long post! So many fun pictures. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and are looking forward to 2018! In case you missed it, check out Kristine and Joe's romantic waterfront wedding at The Oaks!
