Scott & Janet {Irvine Estate in Lexington, VA}

Scott and Janet are MARRIED! It was wonderful to get back into wedding season and capture the blissful day of Mr. and Mrs. Simpson. Scott and Janet tied the knot in the mountain top of Lexington at the fabulous Irvine Estate.

The chilly wind was an uninvited guest to the wedding but made a hilarious appearance during the ceremony. Right before Scott and Janet exchanged their vows, Janet's long and beautiful veil blew over her face back and forth. Everyone was laughing because of how cold and windy it was but it didn't take away from the moment! Janet took the veil off for the rest of the ceremony and married the man of her dreams. It was epic!

These two are world travelers which they incorporated into the table arrangements. The place cards were flight cards for the country assigned to their table, it was adorable! Each table had a different country the two had traveled together with pictures and the story from their trip. The gift they gave to their guests was a mason jar of coffee beans from various countries as well. So creative and unique! Scott co-founded UrbanStems which meant the flowers at the wedding were EXQUISITE! Each table had a different arrangement along with the bouquets and boutonnieres. It was heavenly!

Here is a little bit of their love story:

We met in London in 2008. I was studying full-time there, he was an exchange student. At first we kind of avoided each other because ALL of our friends wanted us to date (how cliche - the only two Americans on the same street date? no way). But after one fateful meeting at the circus (can't even make this up...) we started to kinda like each other. BUT Scott's term was up in London! So a few weeks after the circus, he flew back to Boston to finish his senior year at BU. I stayed in London and we Skyped almost every day. When Scott graduated, he moved back to London (his dad is British and he has dual citizenship - lucky!). We lived in London for nearly 3 years, traveling loads and getting in tons of adventures. Then, my working visa expired so we decided to move to Washington, DC. We have lived here for 3 years now and got engaged in October on a hiking trip in Japan! We really wanted a mountain lodge wedding. Scott is from New Hampshire and we both hope to move to Burlington, VT in a few years. We also wanted a funky little American town for all of our British guests to explore.

Scott and Janet danced the night away and exited with a sparkler send off under the stars. Enjoy the images from their big day!

Congrats you two! Your wedding was wonderful. Want to see more of Janet and Scott? Check out their engagement session at Meridian Hill Park
