Chris & Katie met through mutual friends and the rest is history. They are getting married next fall at Herrington on the Bay and can't wait to celebrate! We did their engagement session at their family home in Bethany Beach with their adorable pups. I can't get enough of our couples having their fluffy babies in their engagements sessions! It was a little chilly, but the dogs did a great job holding their cute signs.
Here is a little bit of Chris & Katie's love story:
We were introduced by mutual friends several years ago at a bar in Bethesda. We were just friends until he had a party at his old house and we spent most of the night hanging out. The next day, a group of friends went to a Nationals game together and the rest is history! I joke and say it was my good seats that made him stick around but I think it was my sports knowledge that impressed him :) We are big DC sports fans so one of our favorite things to do is to go to Capitals, Redskins, and Nationals (and some Wizards) games. We also love to travel. We even try to combine those two and go to at least one of our teams away games a year, our most recent being the Capitals vs. Dallas Stars in Texas. During the summer we try to spend as many weekends as we can at the beach.
And the story of the proposal from Katie's perspective!
I tend to be little overly observant so Chris was worried about me finding out when he was going to do it. In order to make it a surprise, he proposed the day he picked up the ring at our house on a Wednesday afternoon. Coming home from work, he turned a bad day at work to the best day of my life! Just the two of us and our dogs was the best thing I could ask for. I had been previously planning on making dinner at home that night until after he popped the question, he said "go get dressed, we are going to your mom's." He had both of our families and some of our closest friends waiting there to celebrate us with great food and even better champagne. It was perfect!
