Grayson's Newborn Session

It still doesn’t feel real that we have a third baby! There are a lot of times while we are eating dinner or when we are hanging out with the girls and Grayson is sleeping and I forget he is there. But then he makes his presence very known with his loud cry or grunting! He is such a sweet baby and nurses like a champ.

Out of the three kids I feel like I have been able to enjoy Grayson the most in this newborn stage. When Payton was a baby, she cried every time I nursed. After two months of working with a lactation consultant, going to support groups, and lots of tears, I decided to exclusively pump. That whole experience made those first few months so rough on top of being a new mom. Hallie on the other hand nursed well, but Payton was only 20 months when Hallie was born so I felt like I was chasing Payton around during Hallie’s baby stage. Having two kids under 2 is hard! Now it is so much fun because Payton and Hallie are best friends and do everything together but that first year was rough. All that being said, I feel like I have been able to enjoy Grayson and his sweet snuggles. It has been wonderful that Payton and Hallie can play together and also enjoy taking care of their brother.

We had our newborn session when Grayson was 4 weeks old which was nice because he was able to show a little bit of his personality when he was awake! It is a blessing being a photographer and being able to take photos of the kids anytime. However, Payton has recently been very anti-photo so I was thankful Anna was able to help get Payton to smile for a few of our photos. I took photos all of the nursery decor photos as well as photos of Grayson alone a few weeks prior to our session and Anna took the rest of our fam! I am grateful to have a fellow photographer to do photo session swaps with and will forever treasure these photos.

Grayson’s nursery is a coastal theme (big surprise I love the beach haha!) with decor from Maine, Cape Cod, and custom paintings by Emily Russel Creative. I am also a big fan of Jellycat so I got all of the ocean animals I could find. The girls each have a buoy with their birthday on it so we picked out one in Cape Cod for Gray’s nursery and it turned out so cute!

We love you little Gray, the girls are so excited to have a baby brother. Enjoy these images from Grayson’s newborn session! I apologize in advance for how long it is but it is multiple days crammed into one post!

Sorry that was so long! Too many cute ones to share. It is so important to me to have all of these milestones documented. These kids grow too fast! In case you missed it, check out Grayson’s birth story!
