We welcomed sweet Hallie Rae Paulovkin into the world on October 26, 2018 at 9:02pm. This little girls labor and birth experience was very different from Payton’s! So many people told me during the last few weeks of my pregnancy that the second baby usually comes earlier than the first baby. I was excited about this because I started feeling super uncomfortable towards the last few weeks.
I did not think I was going to have time to get these edited before Hallie made her big debut, but thankfully I was able to finish editing all of my client images from September! We can’t wait to meet this sweet baby and each day I wake up and hope today is the day we get to hold her for the first time. But until then, enjoy these images from our maternity session!
I can’t believe we are only a month away from meeting our second baby girl! Rachel and Kate threw me a sweet little sprinkle for Hallie and it was beautiful. The floral and wood theme was perfect because it matched Hallie’s nursery! We played a fun game where everyone guesses how much a list of 10 baby products cost and whoever had the closest total amount won the game. Surprisingly, my sister Erin won! She will definitely be a great mom someday.
Today is Kevin's 30th Birthday!! We always joked when we were dating that I was a cougar because I am 6 months older than him. But now we are both 30 so we are even! I wanted to celebrate his birthday by sharing 30 of my favorite memories that we have shared together. Another summer, another amazing beach vacay! This year we wanted to go somewhere different besides our usual choice of Rehoboth/Bethany and Chesapeake Beach was a perfect choice. I was searching for fun summer activities to do with toddlers, and the Chesapeake Beach Waterpark came up. After we decided that would be a fun spot to take Payton, we found the perfect Airbnb and booked our vacay.
When we found out we were having another girl, we were both so surprised. A few days before our 20 week appointment, I had a dream we were having a boy and we had already started thinking of boy names! But we are so excited to be having another girl and to give Payton a sister. It was really tough coming up with another name since we had such a hard time deciding on Payton! However, we are happy to say that baby girl number two has a name! Her name is...
Payton is ONE! How did this happen? One year ago we became parents and our greatest adventure began. Pay Pay, you are such a gift to us and we are beyond thankful for you. We want you to know that you can be whoever you want to be and grow up to do whatever you wanna do. The sky is the limit, little girl! You are unique, beautiful, kind, persistent, funny, and joyful. Thank you for being a gift to us each day!
It is weird to be posting our family session but I love having these photos on my blog as a digital journal. I haven't had any time to write/put pictures in a paper journal! Payton was 8 months old when we took these and her personality is perfectly captured. I know I say this all the time but it is true; this child is an undeserved gift and we are grateful for her each day.
Four years married, eight years in love. Each year gets better and better. New challenges, joys, and of course raising our first little baby together. Kevin, I have loved watching you grow into the dad role. Payton adores you and will be saying, "da da" so soon! The way you care for her and protect her makes my heart melt. I fall in love with you all over again every time I see you with her!
You may have seen James on my social media as the cute boy with the long hair that hangs out with Payton a lot (we may have started the hashtag #JandPayPay)! Payton and James were born 13 days apart and are already the best of friends just like their mommies! It has been nothing short of a gift to have a friend with a baby at the same exact stage as you.

However, I wanted to blog our family trip to Rehoboth Beach because there were too many cute pics to share. I had my 6 week postpartum check up with my OBGYN yesterday and I am officially cleared to workout again! I have been itching to workout since giving birth because it is a big stress reliever for me so getting the clear was exciting. Before I was pregnant, I had a regular routine of doing CrossFit at Nevermore a few times a week.
