What a year! Looking back, 2017 was an incredible year and God provided in big ways. Having Payton, continuing to work with amazing couples, learning how to run a small business and be a mom, and fun trips with Kevin. I am also continuing to realize that there is joy to be found in the day-to-day. Slowing down, being present in each moment.
This is always a fun post to share each year! There is a lot that goes on at each wedding to create the images you see. You will see everything from veil throwing, bumblebees flying around, and blocking the sun with a reflector in this post. This year I even shot a wedding with a broken toe! Nothing can stop me from capturing your beautiful day.
It is weird to be posting our family session but I love having these photos on my blog as a digital journal. I haven't had any time to write/put pictures in a paper journal! Payton was 8 months old when we took these and her personality is perfectly captured. I know I say this all the time but it is true; this child is an undeserved gift and we are grateful for her each day.
John and Emily are engaged! They are getting married next summer at Pond View Farm and couldn't be more excited. You may recognize Emily from Missy and Mike's wedding at Dulany's Overlook this past spring. Emily and Missy are sisters and now they are both AGP brides! This will be the third set of sisters we have photographed and each celebration has been amazing. I love getting to know these wonderful families and capturing special memories for each of them.
Our last wedding of the year was a windy yet beautiful success! Joe and Emily tied the knot in front of family and friends at The Flanders Hotel in Ocean City, New Jersey. It was a chilly and windy day but that didn't stop these two from having an amazing time! I love when my couples take the risk of going outside for portraits when it's not ideal conditions. It is always worth it!
This Anniversary session was a a treat! James and Maggie also had Katelyn James as their wedding photographer so it was fate when Maggie asked me to shoot their Anniversary session! The two recently welcomed fur baby Penny into their family and she is a ball of energy. She loved smiling and barking at the horses at Carousel Park.
Taylor and Courtney are getting married next summer at Pond View Farm and they can't wait! They chose to do their engagement session at Larriland Farm which was special for them for a few reasons. Taylor's Grandfathers' uncle used to own the property. How crazy is that! Courtney also fell in love with Larriland Farm in 2005 when she began going every October for Pumpkin picking.
We had a plan to do Brian and Emily's engagement session at Dumbarton Oaks but when we got there, they told us they were doing renovations and the gardens were closed for the season. We were sad but made the best of it! We walked around Georgetown and found an adorable little park, a pretty hilltop, and lots of beautiful trees to take pictures in front of.
Four years married, eight years in love. Each year gets better and better. New challenges, joys, and of course raising our first little baby together. Kevin, I have loved watching you grow into the dad role. Payton adores you and will be saying, "da da" so soon! The way you care for her and protect her makes my heart melt. I fall in love with you all over again every time I see you with her!
This was the second Wayson wedding I shot this year and it was a dream! Joe and Kristine tied the knot on a beautiful fall afternoon overlooking the water at The Oaks. The weather was gorgeous just like these two! Dusty rose bridesmaid dresses and white and green florals paired perfectly for Joe and Kristine's fall day.
If you are a beach lover you will love this post! Susan and Stephen are getting married next summer and couldn’t be more excited. They recently added a fluffy sweetheart to their family so he had to be in the engagement shoot! Luke is a beautiful golden puppy who loved walking around on the beach with his parents. He even wore a few different signs and the cutest bowtie!
This was the first time I did an engagement session in a museum and I loved it! Normally it would be too dark inside, but the National Gallery of Art East Wing has a huge beautiful skylight that lets in all of the natural light. We walked around taking pictures with paintings that Greg and Larisa enjoy. And I had them dance in the middle of the museum which was awesome!
Chris and Katie tied the knot under a gorgeous floral alter overlooking the water with friends and family surrounding them. Not only were their family and friends there, but Chris and Katie’s two fur babies also walked down the aisle and were there to celebrate! Charlie and Hailey were too cute. It was a windy day at Herrington on the Bay, but it didn’t take the joy away from Chris and Katie's wedding.
Rob and Alyson are married!! Their nautical theme wedding at Herrington on the Bay paired perfectly with the warm September day. Robbie was emotional a few times before the Ceremony because he was so excited to marry Alyson, including right after their sweet First Look! These two tied the knot (literally!) under the floral archway and palm trees with friends and family around.
